Friendly Reminder

I hope research is going well and good ol' Will and J.D. have become your new best friends...

Due Wednesday, October 20th:
 1)Research, research, research!!
2)At least 3 of the research sheets MUST be completed:
-you will need 3 sources to complete assignment
            - one sheet should record your research/quotes/ideas from one source
 3) A topic and thesis statement written down to be handed in:
-A brainstormed list of topic ideas/ then narrowed down to your final topic
-A research question (refer to Unit 4 in Put that in Writing)
             -Your thesis statement (or contention)
**This must bewritten down on a sheet of paper to be handed in in class.
 4) Bring research materials to class (please print out any essays, articles, or journal articles you are using to bring to class (because we only have one computer).
**We will spend the majority of class next Wednesday developing your thesis statements, researching, and beginning your outlines.
 5) Don't forget to give a status update about your progress on the blog by Monday evening.  Please be sure to include possible topic ideas, questions you have come across, and interesting facts you have learned about your author. Also, this is not an academic essay (1st person may be used), but I am grading them and paragraph structure still counts.  As well as grammar and spelling :)
6) ALSO, if you both could try to get your hands on As I Lay Dying and Catcher in the Rye that would be great! (You should be able to get the cheap online). I think the library had one copy of Catcher in the Rye. We will start reading soon! Possibly next week.  I will also keep my eyes peeled for any copies floating around.

Things to Keep in Mind:
-A formal sentence outline and introductory paragraph will be due the following Wednesday (Oct. 27th)
-Your first draft will be due Wednesday November 3rd
-Final draft will be due November 10th
(subject to change)

Have a great weekend!
