  -Underline the 2 figures of speech (ellipsis and oxymoron)-refer to pages 83 & 84 in Put that 
   Writing
  -Essay Edit Checklist -signed by a parent/friend who has proof read your rough draft

     *Please be sure this is very detailed/specific
3)Comparison Essay thesis statement
4)Comparison Essay Outline (refer to pages 87-89).
     *This should also be very specific
     *Only your thesis statement and topic sentences need to be complete sentences.  The rest of the outline
       should be listed.
5) PLEASE BRING YOUR RESEARCH MATERIALS TO CLASS NEXT WEEK
     *We will be starting introductory paragraphs and the rough drafts next week
6) We will have an in-class essay exam/writing prompt next week! :) Be prepared!

All homework should either be handwritten or typed and printed to be turned in. Thanks!

1) Comparison Essay rough drafts will be due Wednesday, November 17th.  Please bring 2 copies to class.
2) Final draft will be due the last day of the marking period (Wed., Nov. 24th)

Faulner outline and draft.

Almost done with my outline. I'm on the last point, trying to try it all together. The draft is also progressing very well. I'll be ready by class on Wednesday and I can't wait to see how these papers turn out!

Rough Draft and Sentence Outline Due October 27th

* Both the Outline and the Rough Draft MUST be printed out prior to class next Wednesday.  If they are not printed and handed in at the beginning of class they will be marked down one full letter grade.*

Outline Requirements:
-Must be in COMPLETE sentences
-Must have correct spelling and grammar
-Must incorporate sources/references

Rough Draft Requirements:
-Each paragraph must have a minimum of 9 sentences
-Must be complete (Intro paragraph, 3 Body paragraphs, Conclusion paragraph)
-Must include a reference page (in APA format) listing all references used in paper (a minimum of 3 sources)
-Must also include a list of references you consulted but did NOT include in your essay
-APA format (refer to Put that in Writing)
-Must follow outline (otherwise modify your outline!)
-Appendix H (General Essay Evaluation Form) needs to be completed
-Appendix F (Essay Edit Checklist) needs to be completed (have whoever read your paper sign by #17 on this sheet)

**Also, please hand in your 3 written research sheets (printed out as well!) with all of the above.

Alrighty,
Well, I'm off on a hard start because I was gone all weekend and had no time for anything, including sleeping. When I got back, I was feeling pretty sick from overworking myself. However, I'm determined to catch up on everything. I finished The Bible as a Work or Imagination paragraph and I'm now moving onto the Leithart/Eliot one. I might do the other one tomorrow, if not tonight.

Prayers are much needed, as I'm still feeling yucky and there's a cold going around.

That's life.
